When Kakiage or Tempura is served as a single dish, Tentsuyu is customarily used to dip it. Tentsuyu is a sauce seasoning for Tempura or Kakiage. It is basically made from dashi (Japanese soup stock made from fish or kelp) and soy sauce, and served as dipping sauce with grated daikon radish.
