Butajiru (Japanese pork soup)

Butajiru or Tonjiru, both literally mean pork soup is a Japanese soup made with pork and vegetables, flavoured with miso.
Butajiru is usually made by stewing sliced pieces of pork, vegetables like Daikon, carrot, and spring onions.
In Japan, miso soup is for a side dish. But Butajiru can be a main dish served in a big bowl. This dish is popular for home cooking, School Lunch, and outdoor cooking.

Nasu no Agedashi (Deep fried eggplant in a hot broth)

Nasu no Agedashi is an eggplant dish in Japanese style.  Deep fried eggplant is served in a hot broth made of dashi, mirin, and Japanese soy sauce. And topped with Daikon Oroshi (grated daikon). One of a popular menu both in home or Izakaya. Combination of deep fried eggplant and Daikon Oroshi makes brilliant taste. This dish is heavenly tasty and has a texture that melts in the mouth. One of my favorite Japanese dish.
