Fukagawa-don (Japanese rice bowl with clams and miso broth)

Fukagawa-Don is one of a traditional Donburi (rice bowl menu) in Japan.
Lightly cook clams and spring onions with miso broth, and place on the steamed rice.
It is said that Fukagawa-don appeared next toward the end of the Edo period.

Basically Asari clam is one of a traditional ingredient of Fukagawa-don in Japan.
On this time I used mussel instead because mussel is cheaper than clams in the Netherlands.

Stuffed paprika (Stuffed pimentos)

The stuffed paprika ( ピーマン肉詰め) is a dish made with ground meat and paprica. It is made by cutting paprika in half, stuffing the halves with hamburger mixture, and then baking them. Good combination with Japanese brown sauce.
This is one of a well-known side dish in Japan that uses paprika, and of course is my favorite.

Japanese green tea cake

Japanese green tea cake (抹茶ケーキ, Macha cake) is popular like green tea icecream in Japan.
Japanese green tea powder (Macha) is needed to make this cake.

Add green tea powder into standard cake powder.
After that, you can take same procedure of typical cakes.
Serve with whip cream and anko (Azuki red bean paste).

PreCure bento

I made PreCure Kyaraben. The character of this bento is "Candy" from Smile PreCure!. Candy is a sheep-like fairy, gaining the assistance of the Pretty Cures.

Pretty Cure, also called PreCure (プリキュア Purikyua), is a Japanese magical girl anime metaseries. The franchise has seen many anime series, as well as spawning movies, manga and video games. Each series features a group of young girls who can transform into the magical girl superheroines.

As you know most kindergarteners need to bring bento to their kindergarten, and nowadays bringing Kyaraben is quite popular in Japan. The most favorite character for Japanese little girls is PreCure. Kuru---!

Ingridients of Candy:
Ears: omlet
Pink parts: Ham
Yellow parts:
Young corn
Face: rice
Eyes and mouth: Koubu seaweed
White part of eyes: Surimi
